Having filenames with stars in them isn't generally a good idea
Probably good for annoying people: Hmm.. what's this * directory? rm -r * Nooooooo!!! ^C^C^C^C^CAnd I'm guessing here, but it wouldn't surprise me if windows users wouldn't be able to do anything with the file.
I remember a script of mine making a load of inaccessable directories on the file server at work. I could access it all fine in linux. The files/directories were on a windows file server and had gone on there without any trouble. I could see the directory in explorer but when I double clicked it said it couldn't be found. The problem turned out to be spaces at the end of the names.
