-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 All, I've decided I want to look in to running an online forum where users can post their queries and have others reply.. Of course mailman or similar popped to mind, but to be honest it's not as easy to use for noobs as a fuzzy web interface. It'd need to be able to restrict access based on group memberships (none/ro/rw) and have multiple levels of navigation (eg, one forum section for cake, one for biscuits, one for jelly) each with its own acl's. So.. what has anyone experiance with that can, or can't, do this please ?
Have you gotten anywhere yet? I've been using a site recently that's running "phorum" - http://www.phorum.org/ and http://www.phorum.org/demo/Looks fairly simple, but ticks most boxes, and http://forums.mysql.com/ is a rather (in)famous user of it... Been about for a long time too, so hopefully "robust".
