I did give it a go but I didn't like it. The main problem for me is that it's difficult to pick up. the interface didn't make sense to me and I had to read the instructions before i could get it to run at all. with civ4 i could play it without reading the instructions (indeed, i've never opened the instruction book). I don't mind learning as I go along, but the difference is that with freeciv i needed to learn how to play at all but for civ4 i only needed to learn how to play better.civ certainly wouldn't be playablePlay Freeciv :D
