With regards to Talk Talk, there is another provider on their network who i've found to be ok, Opal. They generally deal with the business grade broadband section of Talk Talk's empire, they're the only 24mbit provider at our exchange so we're using them with "unlimited" bandwidth. They dont even do any of the usual stuff like limiting torrent data.
