I have been offered a second-hand Acer 5633 WLMi laptop at a very
reasonable price. I have thoughts of using it as a sort of test bed for
new versions of Kubuntu as they appear, and to play around with while
still keeping my desktop.
Does anyone on the list have any comments or recommendations about this
please? I have made no commitment to it, so I have time to decide what
to do.
Many thanks
Neil Winchurst

My 5630 WLMi hasn't really had many problems with Ubuntu. I have sort of got the webcam working but to be honest with you it isn't something that I would use anyway so haven't put a lot of effort into it.
I had to fiddle with the wireless but that is a common issue, most everything else worked straight away and that was back on Edgy.
It's a nice laptop and I would go for Acer again when choosing my next machine.
Hope that is of use
Jen
