This has now been rediscovered and the factory is going again. Coupled with the recent solid sodium batteries - this could be very worthwhile in a few years. I have a friend over the hill who just got planning permission for a big wind turbine (£20k) in a good spot for wind - in the saddle between Godolphin Hill and Tregonning Hill. It will be interesting to see the economics once it gets going. A guy who used a nearby cottage as a holiday home got up a petition and a group of objectors! There was a good turnout of supporters at the planning meeting.
