Hi folks, I picked up a leaflet the other day about an offer that Torbay council will be running in April. It seems that anyone will be able to park in Torbay Council run car parks for £1 for a whole weekend on every weekend in April. I thought it might be handy to mention for anyone who is driving into Paignton. There are restrictions such as if you're in a short stay car park you can't park for longer than the maximum time but as far as I'm aware there aren't any limits on the multi-story car park (is it the Victoria Car Park?) in Paignton which is just across from Paignton Green. It appears that it only covers car parks (not that you can find any on-street parking these days anyway!). Anyway, you can find more out about it on the rather useless Torbay Council web site here: http://www.torbay.gov.uk/index/transportandstreets/parking/carparks/carparkcharges.htm#pound Here's the info from Torbay's web site... Pound Parking in April A single £1 ticket purchased after 6pm Friday will be valid for use ALL weekend at all council Pay & Display car parks. Every weekend in April 2009, there is a £1.00 fixed charge for all tickets purchased at Torbay Council Car Parks between 6pm Friday and 10am on Monday morning. The £1 ticket purchased between the times stated above will be transferable to all Torbay Council Car Parks. Normal charges apply at all other times. * PLEASE NOTE: *If parking in short stay car parks you must observe the maximum permitted parking times. Union Lane Shoppers, Torquay (75 mins), Great Western, Station Lane, Paignton (3 hours), Brixham Central, Bank Lane, Brixham (3 hours). The promotion will not apply to on-street pay and display areas, which will remain subject to the usual charges.
