When I first installed windows XP it ran at a decent speed, by the time its been running for a few months, had stuff installed, uninstalled etc etc, the speed is nothing like a fresh install. Now debian on the other hand, is far nicer, even after all my upgrades, downgrade and other fiddling it was still running at a nice speed. 3 /4 years after I first installed kanotix.
