In yesterday's Mail on Sunday (Feb 15) on page 70 there was an article about software. The title was High Cost of Illegal Software Here are some quotes .... last year the British Software Alliance took 294 legal actions against firms using illegal software. .... more than £400,000 in damages ... ... a further £1.47 million to buy replacement software .... ... urge companies to recognise the dangers of using unlicensed software... As you can see the article was all about warning companies not to use unlicensed software. But, there was no mention anywhere about open source software, nothing to tell anyone that it is possible to avoid both the hassle and the cost of the above problems. Strange that, isn't it? Why can't companies, especially small businesses, find out about the advantages of open source? The message just isn't getting out yet, is it?
