I wouldn't expect that person to hang around long if they're experienced. There's just too much of a gap for pay with seasoned Linux admins earning more than double that figure. Saying all this though, it would really help if somebody has some linux employment turnover figures for schools. When I implemented linux/karoshi in schools, the number one concern was being stuck with over-priced support or support the school could not afford. The second was that linux admin experience is believed to be scarce (which is one of the reasons that makes linux seem more expensive). Getting a blanket-organization that can schedule around linux admin resources amongst disparate schools, would go a long way in alleviating some of those reservations schools may have.
