Thanks for the suggestions folks - I am having some problems
getting my head around the way in which an Ethernet connected printer can be
truly 100% shareable unless it handles print queues and has its own print job
management system.
I have been unable to find the answers to such practical
issues as how it can resolve two or more concurrent print requests from
networked hosts without interleaving or even interprinting on the same pages,
what happens if a spooling host dies 'mid spool', how do you kill off a 'bad'
print job etc. etc. - loads of practical issues spring to
mind.
Have been unable to find this out - it is rather crucial that
whatever I choose can be shared transparently without having to run around the
place shouting 'is it OK if I use the printer now???'
Has anyone had any experience of this - or can anyone point me
in the direction of the relevant documentation please?
Thanks
David
