Should be able to boot into memtest from Ubuntu livecd, to avoid any complications from anything else causing a crash. Problem with memtest is firming up if it is the memory. Last time I did this, just removing 1 of 2 memory sticks stopped any errors, so I just replaced that stick. The bad news is when you remove, or replace the memory and still get errors running memtest, since memory is cheap and easy to replace unlike motherboards. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
