[LUG] ssi nav

Hello

I am trying out a SSI for the first time with my Hosts using Debian 
Linux and Apache 1.3.33 on their sverers.

I used the line <!--#include file="nav.txt" --> to replace the 
navigation from <ul> to </ul> inclusive in a test file. I made the file 
on the host folder executable as recommended using the gui (konqueror) 
rather than chmod in the tutorial at 
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/howto/ssi.html. The host does accept 
SSI (in principle).

Can anyone help?
