From the little time I've been on this list, I suspect most people here have enough clue to do this themselves!FWIW, my company is a Nominet member and tagholder and can register domains directly, partly for just that reason -- people who contract me to do work for them often want me to just take everything off their hands and some things are much easier to do if you're a tag holder and have absolute control.
I can't quite justify being a member, it's not something I do regularly enough...
At the wholesale level, you can get domain names cheap - if you buy enough of them and become a registry, although the fees involved are somewhat steep initially. I think it's less than £2.50 a year now for a .co.uk if you're a registrar. You think wrong :) All Nominet members, without exception, pay £5+VAT per domain registered irrespective of volume, and there is no other way to register .co.uk domains. Same applies for most of the other .uk SLDs.
I stand corrected! Wonder where I got the £2.50 from then...Once upon a time I was on the UK naming committee... Them wur the days! None of this money nonsense ;-)
