Hi folks, This is probably a really long shot but does anyone have the software to generate a master password for a Dell Latitude D500 BIOS? My brother-in-law has got himself an old Dell Latitude D500 from a mate of his but unfortunately it's got a password on the BIOS so it won't boot. I've done some google searching this evening and it seems that you need a specific utility to generate a master password to unlock the BIOS and some of the sites I've visited said that I can get a password for the great price of $90! Sods law I did find a utility but it only works on the older Latitude notebooks. This one has a 595B version BIOS which uses different codes and for security's sake, Dell have used an EEPROM to store the password so even taking out the BIOS battery won't work (already tried this). Just thought I'd check anyway before going down the stripping down to get to the EEPROM chip option.
