Hi folks, Just seen this on Digital Spy... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcasting/a135199/ashley-highfield-quits-project-kangaroo.html It seems that Ashley Highfield (yes the guy who was at the Beeb and involved with the iPlayer debarcle has now taken a post of Managing Director at Microsoft UK. Call my cynical but I can't help think he got the job over the iPlayer thing. Supposedly though according to Linux Format the BBC will finally release a Linux(ish) client for the iPlayer which allows downloads. Although it's still non-free and got some DRM infections (it runs on Adobe Air) I will mean that some of those Windows users out there who would be interested in switching if they could use things like the iPlayer, they'll have a better reason to do so. Of course it would still be better if they used something like Dirac. Still at least the BBC are slowly changing. I bet in the Beeb it's a case of us (the techies, engineers etc) and them (the Mac loving media-tards).
