AFAIK in the UK it ok to use a name if you can't be confused with others trading with same name. So there can be an Apple that sells clothes. Apple would seem a good comparison because the word is itself in common usage You know I keep hearing the word Ubuntu being used with a rough idea of it's meaning, last was 'thought for the day' on Radio 4.
