Having followed up the link posted by Rob with regards to reuniting the BBC Micro development team. And remembering those "pioneering" days where magazines published code in "open source" hard copy, and the BBC transmitted programs over teletext and radio, I was wondering in these days of DAB and digital TV whether the BBC could be persuaded to adopt GNU/Linux as a reference point for a set of new programs, recapturing that ethos of generating, developing and sharing computer programs.
