Has anyone else been following the Phorm scandal? Where basically BT, Virgin Media and Carphone Warehouse are going to (have already started?) selling http logs to a company called Phorm? Possibly other big ISPs also joining them shortly. Phorm used to be involved in creating spyware under the name 121 Media. I read about on The Reg: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/02/29/phorm_documents/ Basically, I want to find out if I need to move ISP, whether there is anyway I can tell if my ISP is already doing this, any way I can tell if an ISP I think of moving to is already doing this, anyway I can write a web page that can detect this type of request and inform the user they are being spied on? I have seen mixed reports on whether a https proxy would be useful or not in this scenario. Anyone able to give a definitive answer on why or why not?
