The basic interface can be changed to the xandros "advanced" one by adding a repository and then installing a .deb package. This gives you the xandros kde desktop designed for the eeepc. Also if you search eeepcuser you'll find eeexubuntu, a version of xubuntu for the eeepc. This has the wifi and ethernet drivers as native, but doesn't as yet support the webcam. The advantage is all the software you can install from the ubuntu repositories. I switched back from eeexubuntu to the xandros kde desktop and was very happy with the way all the gizmo's devices worked, but then was frustrated by the difficulty of installing apps not in the xandros and community eeepc xandros repositories, things like codecs and libdvdcss, so have switched back to xubuntu. Horses for courses I guess. A great gizmo anyways, really useful and you can always stick an 8 gig SD card it.
