Optimism is not a word that immediately comes to mind regarding the
Wilson years. Not to me, at least. They were bleak times.

As ever, one man's meat, and all that. I enjoy the books, I just have
to work at it a bit, because of his writing style. Having said that,
each new book of his is usually easier than the last. I suspect I'm
getting used to his style.
