If you have a PowerPC/G3/G4/G5 Mac, then you're looking (obviously) at the PPC variants of Linux. The G* Macs are relatively easy to dual-boot, and indeed are pretty much the same as standard x86 machines to install onto. Now the PowerPC variants (I know G*s are technically PowerPC based machines, but the ones I mean were called "PowerPC" Macintoshes) came in 2 flavours... "Old World" and "New World". If you have a "New World" PowerPC Macintosh, you're laughing as these are essentially the same structure as the G*s... if, however, you have an "Old World" Macintosh, then getting the bloody thing to run Linux is a whole different kettle of fish. Guess what type of Mac I have. Grrr. (Apple Macintosh 5500/225 PowerPC was the correct answer, by the way.)
