Posted by "chris baker" <circuswarp@xxxxxxxxx> Hi, I use 7.10 too, never had a problem with read/write access to NTFS. It seems reasonable to suggest it works since you can use it via Samba and you mention having to mount the partition, this will mean you have to edit the fstab file. There is a GUI configuration tool can install via synaptic package manager or with the command: sudo apt-get install NTFS-config This will edit the fstab file for you (but its probably better to get a feel for manually editing config files in the long run). Here is a link to a walk through using NTFS-config. http://www.ubuntugeek.com/widows-ntfs-partitions-readwrite-support-made-easy-in-ubuntu-feisty.html This link is how to manually edit NTFS and FAT32: http://blog.csmonkey.com/2007/04/auto-mount-ntfsfat23-in-ubuntu.html Hope this helps you, Chris -- ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Generated by the contributors page in the members area at D+C GLUG http://www.dcglug.org.uk/members/list.php webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
