In the BIOS it will give the current temperature, but of course that only works if you leave the PC sat with the BIOS loaded and nothing else, which doesn't tax the system at all. It may be worth though checking what the alarm temperatures are set to. If they are too low it will shut down too often. Second, get a program called 'Motherboard Monitor' which runs in Windows.
