We tried it here for one of my wifes courses, but it wouldn't work and researching it indicated that the later versions of Elements simply do not work in wine currently. Many apps do work - I have used wine for a few years for various games with varying levels of success - most work, but a couple - specifically Microsoft branded ones like Flight Simulator - don't want to know. Photoshop will run - with a few minor issues, but not Elements for some reason. I would run it in a VM I think - and scan stuff in Linux then transfer it to the VM.
