Having both attended and arranged numerous meetings, I can say that the mixture of what happens defines the group, we have new members, who thanks to our relaxed attitude don't feel intimidated, by technical jargon, but feel they can ask questions, and mix with a wide range of people of different ages and experience levels. This is very much appreciated by all. For the most part I think the discussion is mostly as Neil said GNU free software issues, a recent rugby club meet had smallish groups working on different problems, at the end of the meet people went away happy, and armed with extra knowledge needed to solve problems etc But we have found these work very well, and better if we know of problems before hand and even better if there is internet access. There are currently 4 free software or Linux type meetings in the pipeline thursday at the Hotel in Totnes Weekend - Paignton lbw August there is a event at exeter hospital (or somewhere round there), Simon is in the process of sorting something out, oh and if we count a BBQ, (not arranged yet), thats 5, all between now and september There was also discussion relating to a event in a internet cafe in penzenace too i think, so thats possibly 6 . Don't forget there are also the perl mongers meetings which you can attend if interested, I think Linux has matured so well any group talks can focus on how Linux and free software can be used in the real world (e.g science research on clusters, movie rendering etc), rather than the issues of getting it up and running, as a home system, This is a credit to all the years of Lug meetings that focused on these early issues.
