Hi again, Just to say that I got the command to work, but I replaced the -a option with -dpPR (which, according to the man page has the same result). Would still love to hear any thoughts on why cp -a failed with permission problems though. Maybe something to do with SELinux, though I didn't think that affected permissions!?
