I've got a 5 year old box with an 80G hard drive and W2k installed - I sort of need it for Visual Studio and the missus. I stuck in the latest Kubuntu CD and it ran beauuuutifully from the CD. I asked it to install and it resized on of the two partitions on the HD and made a new swap and ext3 and set up a few options for itself in the boot sector. I can still boot into w2k ok but none of the kubuntu options seem to work - they all grind to a halt without any useful error messages. An attempt at reinstalling doesnt look good as it tries to resize the ext3 partition or take over the whole drive. Any clues how to get round this- without installing debian etc thanks!
