I prefer HP machines. They seem to be sturdier than some other makes,
and they also release drivers for GNU/Linux.
If you're anti-HP, take a look at http://www.linuxprinting.org, which
has compatibility lists for a large number of printers. It's a list
that is constantly playing "catch-up" of course, since it relies on
user input, so may not have the latest models listed.
