Since the schedule shows F8 due out in November (!), that means FC6 may have support for about a year or less. Secondly, you are right about no CD's being available, but again that is the new policy I gather. So if you still have no DVD-writer by next year, then you'll still have the same problem with F8 and future versions. Personally I'm running F7 at work and on my home PC with no problems. Our Linux servers though are (mainly) now on CentOS 5 (an RHEL 5 clone). If you want to stick with an rpm-based system, then either F7 or CentOS5 may be worth a look. I have to admit that I tried Ubuntu, still have it at work as a test PC, but after years of using RedHat/Fedora I couldn't see why I should change :-) John. -- --------------------------------------------------------------- John Horne, University of Plymouth, UK Tel: +44 (0)1752 233914 E-mail: John.Horne@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fax: +44 (0)1752 233839 -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
