Thinking about quality of ink, rather than cost, I print my own honey labels and it would appear that some of the ink I use fades in daylight - not direct sun. I am using an Epson Stylus Color 740. I have not used Epson cartridges for ages, but wonder if anyone knows about fading and could advise. I have used ink refills most recently, cheap cartridges, WHSmith's version and don't remember which fades most.
