OK this isn't really a linux problem, but... I'd just installed the final version of PClinuxOS on my laptop and had left it in SU mode to access the configuration screens. Comming back later I found the cat on the keyboard (trying to install apache from the set up a server option). Her kip and dance on the keyboard has pressed some key combination which has the result of when I bring up the log in root dialog it won't accept any input. It works when I use it with a live disc. I have tried re-installing the OS and removing the battery and power - no joy. I know num lock does weird things on laptops and have tried that also. Any ideas anyone?
