My daughter has a Canon, but she is out currently, so I can't ask her! As a little bonus for those looking towards moving to Linux who may be doing any course, the fact that almost all digital cameras can simply be plugged into a system running Linux and be recognised and the images displayed/downloaded. For many Windows users, that is quite a shock - they are used to having to follow the old "install drivers, connect camera, fiddle about, reinstall drivers, reboot, try again, wash, rinse,repeat..."
