Ok after reading and using google using export cc="/c/bin/version of gcc" using echo $CC and echo $GC gives nothing both gcc and cc are in /usr/bin/cc and /usr/X11R6/cc same paths for gcc gcc version is 4.1.2 20061115 (pre release) from this I am guessing export CC="/usr/bin/cc" export GCC="usr/bin/gcc" is this right, I don't want to risk messing something up is this case sensitive.
