Hi guys, Been busy up in London and I have to go back up into the smog tomorrow. :/ I've been down here trying to enjoy the weather and working hard on Webconverger. It's getting mature now and would appreciate some marketing support, to let everyone know how great it is. ;) I've been working in the Docklands briefly. I've learnt a few new things and now I think that Cornwall should really have its own data centre. Included is a letter written to my MP, so you get the drift. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Kai Hendry Praze Farm Email: hendry@xxxxxx Wednesday 23 May 2007 Dear Daniel Rogerson, There is much talk about Cornwall becoming a 'knowledge worker' base. Wired West. ICT Cornwall developments and such and so forth. I am in the IT industry and I am very disappointed with the network infrastructure here in Cornwall. I believe Cornwall has great potential to become well networked, because I know for a fact where the fastest network nodes are in the world. New York and Penzance. Yet there are no data centres here in Cornwall. When it comes to network connectivity, rural ADSL connections can't be realistically improved to say, Korean fiberoptic standards. So we must have data centres, think of them as Internet fore streets for myself and other IT professionals to set up shop in. I enjoy living in Cornwall and I do not want to follow the lines up to London docklands to check up on my servers.
