When I shut down my system, it switches off fine, then just starts up again, my system details are as follows Host/Kernel/OS "duron1600" running Linux 2.6.15.6-kanotix-1 i686 [ KANOTIX 2005-04 LITE ] CPU Info AMD Duron procu{s{ clocked at [ 1600.042 MHz ] Videocard nVidia NV18 [GeForce4 MX 4000 AGP 8x] X.Org 7.1.1 [ 1024x768 @60hz ] Processes 85 | Uptime 1:03 | Memory 343.734/1010.41MB | HDD Size 61GB (82%used) | Client Shell | Infobash v2.50 it seems to be a kanotix (sid) etch hybrid, as the kernel is still part of kanotix, however my login promt clearly states its etch, (debian 4.0). just wondered what could be causing the problem, I may have to recompile the kernel, something i have not done for ages, the only time it was any success was with 1.0.9, or just after that, (so i did it years ago to get sound working). any suggestions. I am guessing its an acpi problem, however it could also be a bios issue, (some weird setting somewhere) thanks Paul -- Events Linuxbierwanderung - Torbay Mini Linux Beer Hike 28th / 29th July 2007 http://www.linuxbierwanderung.org/ Follow torbay mini LBW link. http://www.openoffice.org http://www.linux.org CHAT SERVICES www.phractured.net PRFC CHAT ROOM - http://www.zleap.net/cgi-bin/irc.cgi www.serfer.co.uk -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version 3.1 GIT d S: a C+++ UL++++ P+ L++ W++ N+ W--- O!
