Should they have to suffer (ok maybe that word is too strong) because they can no longer motivate themselves ? As a GNU/Linux user I am probably self sufficient enough for my own needs. My mother will probably never reach that level of self sufficiency, but then I don't know the Latin names of every plant under the Sun, and I constantly remind myself that when I was little she was the one that wiped my bum not the other way around ! When I was at school I classified my teachers into two groups those that told you to RTFM and thoes that spent some time trying to equip me with the right metal model tool kit. Sadly most of my teachers where in the former group .... It's not something I want to start perpetuating in myself.
