Not wanting to scare you off this great list but to complement it you
might also be interested in the UK e-riders list. This deals with tech and
voluntary/ngo type issues and there are often Linux questions coming up.
These are mostly from the 'how can I use Linux to save lives and make the
world a better place?' than the 'which gcc flags do I use to optimise my
mplayer build' angle , so it is a pretty user friendly place.
