Posted by "Berry Christopher" <christopher.berry1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Dear Friends, This will probably seem low brow to many of you but - When I am working in Ubuntu in Terminal the following is happening -- when I apt-get etc etc I am asked for the password which I give and all is well until I cp when I am told I do not have permission to edit files!!I do not understand this!! How do I get round this problem as I am being driven silly! I am trying to install my scanner and unless I can pop the Windows file esfw41.bin into /etc/sane.d I am done for! Is there a brainbox out there? Cheers, Christopher Berry. -- ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Generated by the contributors page in the members area at D+C GLUG http://www.dcglug.org.uk/members/list.php webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
