I can't say what the file and directories are named on your computer obviously, but the full stop at the end of the directory is very unusual i.e. iscan-2.4.0/configure Not iscan-2.4.0./configure Also, it's more usual to cd to the directory and use "./configure". Then if you haven't set up sudo you'll need to "su" before typing "make install" and possibly before typing "make" - best just to su first. So all together: su cd home/chris/Desktop/iscan-2.4.0 ./configure make make install exit > christopher.berry1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > Applications/Accessories and type in > iscan-2.4.0./configure I get the response 'no such > file' BUT there it sits with a value of 5.6 Mb!! > > I've tried home/chris/Desktop/iscan.etc BUT still > no response!! > > Can anyone advise? > > In the same area - I am not permitted to open some > things -in my user groups I have root/root followed > by chris/chris (that's me!!) presumably I have to > change something to become the super-user?
