-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I didn't realise until recently that this was even an issue! Now that I realise this is an issue I want to let everyone else know because I'm sure (at least I hope) I'm not the only who had no idea there was a difference between these two terms! It's a difference I think is quite important too: The two, so I am told, differ on basic philosophy: where as Free Software puts freedom (as in speech) above all else Open Source puts goals of practical convenience first. Of course this doesn't mean that Free Software advocates reject convenience! There are some interesting essays on the FSF website (fsf.org I think) and also I found this blog posting on the Free software magazines website with some interesting quotes from Richard Stallman: http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/node/1838 Hope other people find this interesting!
