I fixed the Windows for her, but left Kubuntu on the second partition, just in case I need it again.I gave her the password so she could experiment if she wished. She now prefers to use the Linux! Windows rarely gets booted - which is a tribute to the ease of use for the Ubuntu family. Kubuntu will run from the CD as a live version, but, as with all the new Ubuntu variants, it has a simple desktop icon to install it to a hard drive if desired. I would happily recommend Kubuntu - but any of the Ubuntu family (Kubuntu, Ubuntu or Xubuntu) are equally good - just depends on which desktop you are happiest with.
