I installed a new "high gain suitable for digital" aerial a couple of years ago and found it didn't make a huge difference. Mind, this was a B&Q one and tbh, I found it confusing researching this area. Despite my loathing of spending money of jobs I can do myself, I'm actually considering hiring a TV specialist to do a meter reading and adjustment, and to check my system over.
