Basicly I have gone around and set everybodys password for them to something reasonable now for mail access etc so that has secured things a bit. Before a dictionary attack would have been *easily* possible now it is more difficult. I notice from the dovecot pages that the latest version supports more selective access as i require but i am on debian stable. I have also restricted access to a known subnet of ip addresses as the roaming client gets its ip from a known pool this at least reduces the possible attack sources Regards Robin -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
