I think it all kinda depends, though. My ISP allows xxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I have my own domain too (which points to all emails to a specific xxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx email address) and I don't have, and have never had a problem with spam.
