Perfect sense :) I booted with Knoppix 3.4, and I can open the lilo.conf on the installed system. Copied out as below:I would suggest booting up with a bootable cd, chrooting in to the recently installed system.. checking to see if lilo config is setup right and re-run it if needed.. make sence ?
boot=/dev/hda install=/boot/cboot.b message=/boot/splash.lilo timeout=300 map=/boot/map prompt lba32 read-only compact fix-table other=/dev/hda1 label=Windows XPAnd that's all. Would it work if I boot into a command prompt and tell it 'linux root=/devhda8' (hda8 being where is it)?
The main problem here is I have no real clue what to write into lilo.conf to tell it how to boot properly. I'll try copying the lilo.conf from the desktop (same OSs) and editing the it to see if that works.
