A recent apt-get dist-upgrade has been exiting while upgrading kmail with the reason "permission denied". Doing apt-get install kmail as root produces <snip>Preparing to replace kmail 4:3.5.2-1 (using .../kmail_4%3a3.5.2-1+b1_i386.deb) ...
