(I was having problems getting my Epson Scanner to work with Debian) Hi Simon Thanks for that, I think that "usermod -G scanner peter" (it did not like the -a) has got me off down the right track. I can now work my scanner from the command line, but not from the application menu nor from office. However I can now scan documents. I must now work out how to print them. (My remote printer works from its Debian machine, but only windows can access it over the network(this machines (in debian mode) can "find" it, but thats all!)
