Can you traceroute through it? Try "traceroute technocool.net"... I'm about to upgrade the firmware on mine to get traceroute to work. Ironically about a week after I emailed Linksys support about this we had a networking problem where traceroute from home would have been useful. Rob, I have a spare WAG54G shiny and clean with manuals etc (long story), all reasonable offers considered. I don't know if they'll run the Linux distro on these boxes, the website with the images should tell you. I believe it is already running a version of Linux (it came with a copy of the GNU GPL in the box), but later Linksys routers use a different OS, and this allowed them to drop the memory installed by 50%. Although I think these days the smaller memory is still enough to run your own Linux, if you really want to. I'd strongly suggest not installing your own Linux, but since you can download firmware upgrade from Linksys, you should be able to back out your own Linux if it doesn't work as you expected. But it is at your own risk. Simon -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
