[LUG] OT(ish): UK holds Microsoft security talks

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4713018.stm

Now encryption is really main stream watch the panic start under the flag of prevention of terrorism.

And all the standard crap about adding a back door just in case the government wants to check what you are up to.

You wait the next statement will start "well if you have nothing to hide........"

Other worries :-

"The system, part of what is called "trusted computing" mechanisms, is designed to stop malicious programs being installed surreptitiously on computers" - Quoting the BBC article linked above

Now you have to wonder who defines "malicious programs", I suppose this means road blocks for non Vista based OS's as well.

I think the solution to this problem is for **every** PC sold a employee of MS, a government/police official and representation from Hollywood etc all stand behind you while you use it to check what you are doing. Hell why not just install this system in every house/company/car regardless of weather there is a PC there or not as after all if you are not committing crimes you have nothing to hide! (at least with all those officials in the car you could use a car pool lane :) )
